Fire Pump Room Installation in Pune
The heart of every hydrant and sprinkler system. We install, commission and maintain pump rooms with main electric, diesel standby and jockey pumps that start automatically — every time.

When the fire starts, the pumps must start
A fire pump room supplies water at the required pressure and flow to your hydrants, hose reels and sprinklers. A typical set-up has a jockey pump that keeps the system pressurised, a main electric fire pump that starts automatically when pressure drops, and a diesel-driven standby pump that takes over if electric power fails.
FIRENET installs complete pump rooms — pumps, controllers, suction and delivery headers, valves, pressure switches, test and drain lines — and commissions them so that automatic starting is proven, not assumed. Pump selection follows the hydraulic demand of your system, the approved drawings and applicable standards such as NBC 2016 Part 4 and the relevant IS specifications for fire pumps.

Selection & Layout
Pump duty chosen for your hydraulic demand; room layout planned for access, ventilation and diesel exhaust.
Installation
Pumps aligned on foundations, headers and valves installed, controllers wired and labelled.
Controls & Auto-Start
Pressure switch settings so jockey, main and diesel pumps start in the right sequence.
Commissioning
Auto-start tests on pressure drop, delivery pressure and flow checks, diesel start-up trials.
Maintenance & AMC
Routine run tests, gland and seal care, battery and fuel checks, valve exercising.
Records
Test reports and maintenance logs for Fire NOC, Form B and insurance surveys.
Pump Start Sequence
Pressure switches are set so each pump starts at a different pressure. This is what we set up and prove during commissioning.
| Pump | Role | Typical control |
|---|---|---|
| Jockey pump | Tops up small pressure losses so the system stays charged | Starts and stops automatically within a narrow pressure band |
| Main electric pump | Supplies full fire-fighting flow when a hydrant or sprinkler operates | Starts automatically on pressure drop; commonly set for manual stop |
| Diesel standby pump | Takes over if the main pump or power supply fails | Starts automatically at a lower pressure; manual stop |
Exact pressure settings depend on system design and are recorded in the commissioning report.

Frequently Asked Questions
Once a fire pump has started because of a real demand, it should keep running until a responsible person decides it is safe to stop it. That is why main and diesel fire pumps are commonly set for automatic start and manual stop.
A short weekly run by trained site staff is common practice, with professional checks of the engine, batteries, fuel and cooling during scheduled maintenance visits.
It usually indicates a leak in the hydrant or sprinkler network or a passing valve. We trace the leak and reset the pressure switches.
Yes. We can replace pumps, controllers or valves, add a diesel standby pump, and re-commission the complete pump room.
