Our Process

How We Refill & Service Fire Extinguishers

Collection or On-Site Visit

Extinguishers are collected from your premises or our team visits your site to service them in place — whichever suits you.

External Inspection

Cylinder body, label, safety pin, tamper seal, nozzle, hose and pressure gauge are inspected for damage, corrosion or missing parts.

Pressure & Weight Verification

Pressure gauge reading and extinguisher weight are checked against standard values to assess discharge level and fill requirement.

Discharge & Internal Check

Where required, the extinguisher is safely discharged. Internal components and the cylinder bore are inspected for contamination or damage.

Refilling / Recharging

The correct extinguishing agent is refilled to the manufacturer’s specified weight or volume. CO₂ and clean agent cylinders are weighed for accurate fill.

Reassembly & Pressure Test

Valve, hose and nozzle are reassembled. Pressure is restored to the correct operating level. Safety seal and pin are replaced.

Tagging & Service Report

A service tag is attached with date, technician name and next service due. A written service report is issued to the customer for compliance records.

Yes, for AMC customers and bulk refilling orders we provide standby extinguishers while yours are being refilled.

How often should fire extinguishers be refilled?+

Fire extinguishers should be fully inspected and serviced every year. Refilling is required after any use or when the pressure indicator falls below the safe zone. CO₂ extinguishers need refilling based on weight, not just pressure.

Do you refill fire extinguishers on-site in Pune?+

What is hydro-testing and when is it needed?+

Hydrostatic testing is a pressure test on the extinguisher cylinder to verify structural integrity. It is done every 2 years for foam, water and water mist extinguishers, every 3 years for ABC powder, K-Type kitchen and clean agent, and every 5 years for CO₂; the last test date is marked on the cylinder or service tag. If a cylinder fails, it must be condemned and replaced. FIRENET advises on this during annual servicing.
